My first home project

I bought my first house in May 2009.  My first project was to make the house feel more like me!  The quickest way to do this is to paint.  As a single girl, painting 3 rooms wasn't an easy task for me, so I had the rooms painted for me.  It relieved a lot of stress to have the rooms ready for me when I finally moved into my new home.

This is the first room.  I needed to make it look less like a little girl's room.

I decided to keep the shelves and paint this a neutral color.  I rent out this room so I wanted to pick a color that would go with any color.

This is what the master bedroom looked like.

There is a side room that can be accessed through the master bedroom.

I like my bedroom to be dark so I decided to go with a darker brown.  This is a shade or 2 darker than the first room.

Here you can see a bigger contrast from the master bedroom to the side room.

The side room had office feel before.

I wanted the side room to be bright since the master is so dark.  I also wanted it to feel more comfortable.

Whatever your style, painting rooms when you first move into a new house, apartment, etc. is an easy and quick way to make your new place feel like home!
